The Biltmore Estate and Noble Cider, both based in Asheville NC have got together to bring you a delicious new hard cider, made from fresh-pressed local apples!
Biltmore and Noble are both situated in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western N.C. This is one of the top areas for apple production in the country and Biltmore once had orchards that produced over twenty varieties of apples for the house’s kitchen and for cider.
To celebrate this long history and also the hard-working local NC apple farmers, The Biltmore Estate and Noble Cider have come together to collaborate on a new beverage, ‘The Biltmore Blue Ridge Hard Cider’. The estate’s own agricultural history was a natural fit for this project.
For this collaboration, the Biltmore Winery and Noble Cider teams chose local apples from Lewis Creek Farm, located nearby in Henderson County.
Biltmore’s Winemaker Sharon Fenchak and Noble Cider’s Cidermaker Lief Stevens combined their perspectives to create this delicious hard cider, especially blended to be reminiscent of a bygone Biltmore tradition of cider making and to align with what guests at Biltmore enjoy drinking. Trey Enloe of Lewis Creek Farm carefully selected the apple blend that was pressed for this exclusive cider.
Biltmore’s Winemaker Sharon Fenchak said “Noble’s ciders have been well received by our guests, so we were especially excited to partner with them to expand our offerings with an artisanal hard cider collaboration. We found that our fermentation perspective from winemaking complemented the strengths and expertise of our friends at Noble Cider. We plan to continue this collaboration in the future”.
Lief Stevens, Cider Maker at Noble Cider says: “Biltmore has always been one of Noble's best supporters, serving Noble Cider to estate guests since the cidery first opened. This first collaboration is a development of that relationship. Noble Cider was intrigued by the agricultural legacy of the estate and is of course very flattered to be supported by such an iconic and world-renowned local business such as Biltmore.”
The Biltmore Blue Ridge Hard Cider is available at Biltmore Winery and select dining locations at Biltmore and also at both of the Noble Cider Taprooms. The can label was designed by Noble's designer Dena Rutter, in collaboration with Biltmore's in-house design team.
